Medical Receptionist

We are looking for an ideal candidate to join our team! The Medical receptionist is responsible for scheduling new patients and welcoming new business with other medical organization referrals and other responsibilities upon request by PT doctor and CFO. This role acts as a designated resource throughout the entire onboarding process while maintaining process integrity and delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
  • Complete check in and check out process
  • Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions
  • Notifying providers of patient arrivals
  • Quickly answering calls and correctly routing incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors so that all callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately
  • Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
  • Ensure availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records
  • Verifying insurance, financial records, and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims
  • Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
  • Marketing the practice services as needed and assisting with marketing events
  • Cleaning the office equipment and space to ensure a cleanly environment for patients
  • Create process and procedure documents for the company
  • Shadowing the Doctor of Physical Therapy treatment and evaluation sessions
  • Perform incidental duties as needed

Education and Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Interested in Medical field or HR
  • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite
  • High-energy and passion
  • Monday through Friday availability (Flexibility is available)
  • Time management
  • High school or AA degree required
  • Attention to Detail

Internship Learning:

Overall, this internship will provide a good understanding of medical administrator job duties such as, facilitate recordkeeping, communication with outside medical institutions that treat the same patients. This also allows you to observe and learn on the job the business and clinic skills for your physical therapy career.
